Anchor Institute Research Grant
The Anchor Institute Research Grant supports original research in key areas of human nutrition for child and family health. In keeping with this, the majority of research funded through the Anchor Institute Research Grant Programme will be about the health, nutrition and development of healthy children from ordinary families.
Specifically, the Anchor Institute has identified the following of fields of research interest:
- Understanding the nutritional status of young children
- Nutritional benefits of Dairy products for young children
- The impact of nutrition on child health, physical, mental or emotional development, with a focus on helping young children to meet their full potential
The Anchor Institute Research Grant does not normally fund:
- Studies in vitro or research undertaken on animals (non-human)
- Research on Food Policy or Regulations, Food Technology or Food Production
Grant Funding Amount
The Anchor Institute has committed funds towards the Research Grant in 2010. Depending upon the applications, this may be given to one project or split among several smaller projects. A budget must be provided as part of any application.
Eligibility
Successful applicants must be:
- Engaged in post-graduate study through a University
- Conducting research in one of the Anchor Institute areas of interest (above)
- Resident and conducting research in Sri Lanka
